“And the curtain shall separate between the Holy and the Holy of Holies”

While all of us, like David Hamelech, would wish to “dwell in Holiness” at all times, we are often divided between the holy and the mundane. The distinction is manifested in the parochet, which protects our Torah from the mundane world until it can be brought out to the holiness of Shabbos. Like a veil over the face of a bride, we wish to give our Torah a beautiful decorative covering to prepare it for the holiest times of the week.
