In the original mizbeach, there was a fire constantly burining. Despite years of exile, genocide, and hardships of living in the diaspora, the flame of the Jewish people, too, has never gone out. The Aish Tamid in our shul serves as a constant reminder for communal and personal spirituality, and transforms our building into a mikdash me’at.
