“For a mitzvah is a flame and the Torah is light”

One of the roots for the word “Torah” is the world “Orah,” light, from which we learn that one of Torah’s many gifts is illumination – both spiritual and metaphorical. A beautiful chandelier in our beit knesset does the same: enlightening our holy room and serving as a physical reminder of what our Torah does for each of us.
