“Make your home a meeting place for chachamim”
Moshe Rabbeinu describes the ideal Jewish leader as someone who will “go out before [the community] and come in before them, who will lead them out and bring them in.” Our community leaders serve in the public sphere, teaching classes, giving Shabbos drashos, and leading events. But their works also extends to the private sphere, where congregants seek personal guidance. A comfortable and pleasant office for the rav to work, to study, to contemplate, and to provide a listening ear is vital as he continues to work diligently for the community.
